Is it more enticing to get a fixed referral bonus or a variable one? We notice that the share trading apps also keep the reward ‘mysterious’ 
It really depends on the amount - a $50 one time bonus from say a bank is great …a nice decent chunk right? However, many of the programs that offer a flat fee seem to offer a substantially lower amount generally like say $5 (IMHO). Now, with the investing apps the bottom end may be low (some as low as $2) they sometimes offer big payouts on the high end (some over $1,000!) so if you get lucky you can make out. I don’t mind either one but the random prized do tend to get the juices flowing (what am I gonna get!).
In the case of PrizePool they are in a rare class. Sure you aren’t going to get much for the initial referral (some free tickets in this case), but that 10% continues to pay out every single week as long as the referral remains a member and could amount to some big dollars if lady luck smiles your way and any of those referrals hits it big.
Generally, I’d take 10% over the long term vs a set cash amount any day.
